Yesterday I bought and picked up the street/trick bike I had as a kid at jonnyrockbikes. It is a 1986 Schwinn Predator Free Form Z in bebe blue. I just wanted to write and let the internet world know you guys have a great shop with a cool vibe. After reading your website today I love the charity work too. Thanks for the rare find, and being as geeked up over the bike as I was.

Hi Jonny, Just want to thank you again for rebuilding my vintage Trek and bringing it back to like new- better than new! I really appreciate the attention to detail that you gave the project. I wish you and the guys continued success.

I LOVE MY BIKE! Johnny doesn't have to rely on his good looks even though he could. He actually knows a lot about costumer service and meeting their needs. The cute-factor is just a bonus.

Found Johnny's on google. Stopped by the shop and met with great customer service. Looked at inventory and was impressed with the quality of their restorations and rebuilds. Very cool concept. I had a line on an older Trek 6500 with a front derailer issue. Brought bike in to get their feel for the value of the bike and what it would take to get it on the road. The feedback I got was honest and backed with knowledge and integrity. In for a tune up now at a rate that blows the competition away. I will be a long term return customer and strongly suggest anybody wanting good, honest and affordable service do the same.

Hi, I was looking at your bikes on CL and came to your site. I see that you recycle bikes. I organize the Vermillion River Clean Up in Hastings MN and the amount of bikes we pull out each year can be as many as 30 +. I'm not sure why the kids in Hastings like to throw them in the river but they do. It's a shame that they just go to the dump. If you are interested in receiving these bikes or checking them out for parts let me know. Some are in good condition....some are not. This years clean up is Sept. 14, 2013. Thanks! Nora

Hi Johnny, you tuned up and dialed up my 1997 Raleigh M80 with new cranks, chairing, bottom bracket, cassette, and chain. It rides better than new. Plus with the new wide bars, and short 60mm stem. it now has laser accurate steering. For any and all bike service, this is where to go. Thanks Johnny.

This is one of those nice independent bike shops that seems to have a little bit of everything. I found a nice old English 3-speed there, which, due its need of some TLC, I got at a low price. I fixed it up, rode it around Lake Pepin last Spring on the 3-speed tour, and it was great. Local bike shops like this make the Twin Cities a great place to ride.

I live in California and found Jonny's listing on craigslist for a discounted Handsome Speedy. I contacted Jonny to see if they shipped (they do) and swiftly made the payment over the phone. Jonny emailed me the tracking number and the bike arrived very quickly. So far, I'm loving the bike. Thanks!

I've been looking for the right bike for years, but you know it's more than just buying from a jerk in a shopping mall. When I stopped in to Jonny's on a whim, I wasn't expecting to drop a grand on a new bike. But Jonny and his shop is the real deal... small business, big persona, huge knowledge of bikes and the scene. I can't be happier with my new All City Space Horse. Coolest bike I've every ridden!

the Bike: well, a new bike is a joy and we all know the kid-out-of-school feeling. great fun. the service: Jonny did what he said he would, when he said, and made a friend doing it. My deal w/ jonny was long distance and he even made sure my LBS made some money on accessories when he could have taken that part of the sale. If you get a chance to do business w/ Jonny; do it. It will add to the joy of your new bike.

Thank you, Johnny. I love my new Origin 8. I came in looking to fine a used bike to help me continue on my path to recovering from a recent heart attack and you where able find me a brand new bike that was under budget, fits well and is really fun to ride.
Naomi Wente said: September 3rd, 2012 10:26 amI saw a good selection of used bikes fixed up to top notch on Craigslist from Johnny Rock Bikes, so I stopped by on my way through the cities (I'm going to school up at the U of MN Morris). There was one bike that really caught my eye-- a "watermelon" flavored Diamond Back. Although it was on the outskirts of my price range (475$ + tax), it had had a bunch of updates on it (new watermelon pink Saddle, new Bar tape (an AWESOME PINK COLOR!), new brake cables & housings, new pedals--although they are not to die for-- and new 700c Black Alloy Double Wall Machine Side Wall 8,9,10 compat Wheelset, with new watermelon green tires that are of high quality and it was tuned & lubed and ready to go). Johhny was super friendly, showed me his best recommendations for my price range, and even agreed to take a look at a possible later trade-in. The mechanic was friendly and quick-- he wasn't happy with the front brake, so he took it apart and tuned the brake up before I took the bike home. All of their bikes over 250$ come with a 30 parts warranty. I am thinking that I might need to bring the bike back to get the back break tuned up-- it is sticking and not as responsive as it should be. But after going around town in Morris on it, I am simply in love. Thank you , thank you, thank you Johhny. Also, SO COOL WITH THE CHARITY WORK YOU ARE DOING. Thank you!

Jonny Rock Bikes is awesome! I picked up a used bike at a local pawn shop. Needless to say it needed a tune-up. Jonny fit me into his busy schedule immediately so I could ride the bike in the MS150. He was contacted and finished the bike the same day all at a great price. I will never shop at the local big bike shops again.

Jonny Rock Bikes has given me many donations for non profit projects in the Minneapolis community, and has helped individuals who cannot afford bicycles a chance to enjoy riding for transportation, exercise and fun. Thanks Jon, I'm so grateful for how you've helped those who are less fortunate.

Wiped out on my commute home tonight and messed up my chain (and bruised my ego ...) Brought in my bike and they had it fixed and me gratefully on my way within 5 minutes. Very kind, friendly staff and right next to the trail! A customer was even touting this place as the best bike shop in the cities as I walked in! The customers are even friendly! Again, two huge thumbs up, highly recommended!

Jonny Rock Bikes is unbelievable! Great refurb bike selection and excellent customer service. I had an old Gitane road bike that was in rough shape and I wanted refurbished. The staff was very knowledgeable and told me exactly what needed to be done to get the bike in working order. It's been about a month since my bike was fixed up at Jonny Rock Bikes and it rides great! Thanks for all the excellent service and I will definitely be spread the work about the shop.

Hey Jonny - Mazel Tov on the opening of your new bike store! That news just rocks! I bought a blue Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike from you last fall. I outfitted it with studded tires and commuted to work by bike last winter. Thanks for selling me a great bike! We will probably visit your store sometime soon to buy bigger bikes for our 12 year old twins. Again, congrats on your successes! Keep up the good work!

I am a social worker at the House of Charity in Minneapolis. Jonny has just begun working with myself, and our non profit organization in helping individuals living in poverty obtain their own bicycles. Jonny has shown tremendous generosity in donating bikes, and giving profit of refurbished bikes to our agency. We have already begun fixing bikes for those in need, and it has been a huge success. Many participants have shared their gratitude in having affordable transportation, a means for exercise, and a way to have fun! Thank you Jonny, and thank you JonnyRock Bikes! www.houseofcharity.org

In search of an inexpensive fixed gear, I found this business online. I went over to his place and he took time to explain bike parts to me, showed me a couple different bikes, and allowed me to test drive a bike he thought would be a good fit for me. I was very impressed with the level of customer service and knowledge Jon has. He didnt have the bike I was looking for, but sent me in the right direction. I will send anyone I know looking for a recycled bike to Jonnyrocksbikes.

I bought that 1991 Bianchi Osprey that's on your front page at the moment. It's a sweet bike - lightweight lugged steel MTB and in great shape mechanically. I appreciated the adjustments you made to it before I bought it, swapping out the handlebars and so on. Good luck growing your business.

Thank you for your honesty, details, time and fair price on the bike we just bought from you for our daughter for Christmas. You took the time to talk everything through and answer all of my questions. It's nice to know we have an honest guy to bring it to for future tune-ups if needed also. Thanks Jonny!
